Mid winter 2012

---> February 7th 2012...... Well its been an interesting winter this year with plenty of warmer days (over 30 degrees) and almost no snow to speak of. This leaves me thinking of why we haven't posted and canal rides lately? True its been very wet and nobody wants to clean salt off their bikes but its Nice out! As i glance over at my poor snowshoes still hanging in the hallway, and my bike helmet covered in soft mud i cant help but think I'm living in a "twilight zone". Enough of my ramblings lets get down to business.... First note, As of August 2011 I have left Bicycle Outfitters. I say this for the fact that we will be looking for new "Sponsors" for 2012. My hopes are to find another shop in the area that we can start rides at and possibly get "Hookups" from. If anyone has ideas of a shop you like to do business with let me know and ill see what i can do. This is not to say Bicycle Outfitters wont help out but it does give us choices. Second Note, I have talked with Ray Duncan from the Brockport Walk Bike group http://www.brockportny.org/walk!bike!brockport!/index.html and they are very interested in working with us more. Perhaps even to the point of integrating with this page and our facebook page for events and news. Third note, We have talked about doing an MS ride or Ture de Cure as a group this summer at some point (feedback would be good). Last but not least, lets talk about rides. If you are on Facebook please ask to join https://www.facebook.com/#!/groups/CyclingBrockport/. This is a fast way to create events that people can RSVP to and also sneak in rides with very little notice. If anyone has any rides ideas let us know so we all can enjoy great rides and Great company! Until then .....Lets Keep The Wheels Turnin

Fall/Winter Thoughts

->>Well, Fall has come to us here in Western Ny and though the trails are wet and leaf covered the colors are amazing. Now with the sun set around 5 pm and the cooler weather cant help but feel a little sad but looking back on this past summer riding i have to be thankfull of the dry season and warm temps. With that said, it seems amazing that we fit that into one summer. I have ridden in North Carolina, Ellicitville, Mount Morris, Bristol, Ohio and all over the Rochester area. But now its time to think about Snow sports! This winter we plan to replace Mellow Monday with SnowShoe Saturday and some Xc ski sundays. Depending on snow amount we will most likely still ride the canal and some indoor cycling at Rays in ohio and perhaps a little indoor at a new park opening in Syracuse Ny.
